The cult harbingers of doom metal, whose members later continued in ensembles such as Magma Rise, Wall Of Sleep and Stereochrist, have reunited to play a bunch of filling-rattling shows across Europe. 

Still fronted by flautist Ian Anderson, wizened old proggers Tull take to the road to celebrate 50 years in the music biz, the set for their jubilee tour filled with favourite tunes. 
Arguably the world’s most influential creator of cinema scores – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West – celebrates his 90th birthday by presenting his music in person to audiences in Moscow, Dublin, Oslo and… Budapest. How does he do it? 


A night of death-groove-thrash metal awaits with pure vocals and distinctive melodies. Offering a Scandinavian approach to the genre, Amorphis hit town for one night, bringing with them Ukrainians Jinjer and an up-and-coming German combo. 
Taking their lead from the Pistols’ famed implosion, Swedish skate punks NFAA have ignited many a venue themselves, and now hit Budapest promoting a first record for ten years, Grit. The band is as fresh and alive as ever, so don’t come along expecting a night of nostalgia. 
Alternative rock from England’s stockbroker belt, You Me at Six are filling arenas from Brixton to Berlin on the back of sixth release VI. After this intimate show at the Akvárium, the Weybridge boys hit the States for a month on the road. 

Alt-rock from Northern Ireland, now with 15 albums under their belts, including the recent Cleave. The current Euro tour takes in a number of iconic venues, including the Botanique in Brussels, Amsterdam’s Milkweg and this one at the A38 Ship.

All the way from Atlanta, Algiers are a classic bass-guitar-and-drums fourpiece who produce an unconventional mix of industrial, gospel and post-punk sounds. 
 

Bringing dark melodious moods from Scandinavia, Madrugada showcase the revered Industrial Silence. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, they will perform the entire album together with other Norwegian toe-tappers. 
 

Stoner rocker par excellence, John Garcia has been pursuing a number of projects after notable stints with Kyuss, Unida, Vista Chino and Hermano. Here latest album The Coyote Who Spoke in Tongues gets an airing.

  One of the most acclaimed ambient pianists of our time, whose virtuoso performances show the younger generation what the magic of classical music is about, has two shows in Budapest. Tickets went like hotcakes but you may be able to find one or two via resale channels. 
Dave Wyndorf's legendary space rock-stoner band have released a new album, Mindfu**er, soon to be distributed in Hungary. Also expect a few back catalogue faves from Dopes to Infinity and Spine of God.

Discovered by Lily Allen, this Ivor Novello-winning pianist-singer-songwriter stands comparison with Elton John and Coldplay – so it’s not quite clear why his Hungarian debut will be at some rock barn in Buda. Latest platter Jubilee Road will be showcased, alongside hits such as Another Love and Real Love. 
X-Files star Duchovny brings his alt-rock band to the big stage in Budapest, promoting latest release Every Third Thought, a follow-up to the well received Hell or Highwater.

Estonian rap? Mock ye not. One of the most distinguished performers around shows that his concerts are as crazy and powerful as his videos. He brings with him tunes from latest release, ¥ € $. 
The latest work by this legendary Slovenian band was inspired by their experiences on tour in North Korea, a blend of the Far East, Communism, Americanisation and consumerism – all filtered through that arch Laibach take on pop art.

  Everyone’s favourite singer-rapper from the early 1990s revived her career with the much-lauded and jazzier The Cherry Thing and now treads the boards with the Four-Tet produced trip-hop release Broken Politics.

The controversial Grammy-nominated rapper takes new album Queen on the road, teaming up again with Future of chart-topping Hndrxx fame in an unmissable double-header.

One of the founders, composers, producers and singer-rappers of Linkin Park, who performed in Hungary last year, returns to Budapest with his raw and inspirational solo album, Post Traumatic.
Unmissable for all Linkin Park fans out there.

  Southampton-born pianist James Heather has been earning plenty of kudos of late, joining Laura Marling at Glastonbury, attracting the attention of Coldcut and being fêted by Coldcut. Set aside your evening to catch the Hungarian debut of this inventive musician in the Nils Frahm mode. 
  One of Sweden’s most successful trio, these folk indie pop hitmakers now offer a more mature, darker-toned record that will be showcased by the Danube. Expect a few classics as well.

  Canadian hardcore metal/punks Cancer Bats return to the capital for a show of notable ferocity. Expect chaos in the moshpit and a few tunes from recent release The Spark That Moves. 
  This great Cuban musician, a worthy successor of Buena Vista Social Club, Son del Nene dishes up the kind of salsa tunes guaranteed to shake up the dancefloor.
