There are many restaurant guides around the world – some are more prominent, and some are smaller regional directories. But there are only a few that are considered prestigious worldwide, which list restaurants from around the globe. Attempting to provide the most balanced ranking of international top restaurants, the new French website La Liste intends to surpass the British San Pellegrino list, or The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, which is published each year (and often criticized for its shortcomings).
La Liste was created by analyzing more than 200 international gastronomic evaluations on the biggest and most-trusted websites, revising the rates given by several gourmet blogs and major local and international experts, and then setting up a 100-point system. The compilation was published with the self-evident title La Liste, meaning “The List”.
Five restaurants from Budapest made the extensive list:
- 778 – Onyx (56.280 points)
- 856 – Costes (54.780 points)
- 964 – Babel Budapest (51.846 points)
- 971 – Csalogány 26 (51.430 points)
- 998 – Tanti (49.242 points)
