Advent in Budapest at Deák Ferenc Square
Bálint Gájer, Gabi Szűcs, Orsi Kozma, the Swing a la Django and the young musicians of the talent show Virtuózok (“Virtuosi”) will all perform at Advent in Budapest that's on until December 31. The majority of the programs trend to the youngest audience this year. The free skating rink will operate every day, and the heated Üvegház (“Greenhouse”), decorated as the scene from a fairy tale, will await visitors with a rich variety of cultural programs. In addition to the Christmas craft fair and the ice skating rink, Üvegház will house performances of amateur choirs, music school students, theatrical groups and orchestras. Each Advent weekend the program begins at 4pm all of which are free.

Gresham Palace Christmas Market
We can highly recommend a very special fair to create a Christmas cheer, namely the Four Seasons Gresham Palace - the hotel featured in so many travel magazines and that regularly tops prestigious lists. The elegant palace, with its Art Nouveau style is one of the most impressive institutions in Europe - not just as a hotel, but as an architectural masterpiece. For the first time this year, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Four Seasons Gresham Palace, there will be an advent fair held in the hotel. The unconventional event can be visited by anyone. At Gresham’s Christmas fair, we can buy a pair of Pécsi gloves, get lost between the niche perfumes of Neroli Perfumery, admire the Herendi counter’s beautiful porcelains, or browse through the goods of Arioso. There is no advent fair without mulled wine and kürtőskalács, and fortunately we can find Vitéz Kürtős next to the entry gate, while Gresham’s own restaurant measures hot drinks from a kiosk.

Budapest Christmas Market at Vörösmarty Square
Surely no one is surprised that there is a winter fair at Vörösmarty Square this year! Vörösmarty Square awaits visitors with colorful cultural programs, Hungarian craft market, as well as Hungarian foods and drinks until December 31. The most significant winter event of the capital fills the Square with irresistible scents and Hungarian folk and craft products this time as well, while the musical experience is guaranteed by the colorful programs of the stage.

Christmas tree of Balaton wines and Advent fair at City Park
Balaton locals are organising an Advent fair in Budapest. It's the first regional Advent fair and Balaton tasting and is the result of a joint project of Balaton hospitality service providers. It's on December 14 at the City Park Ice Rink and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting events in the Advent period. The main attraction of the event is a Christmas tree made of Balaton wines that will be right on the ice. In the Ice Rink’s hall, we can find the most renowned winemakers and producers of Balaton. Entry includes the chance to taste nearly 40 wines from the Balaton, discounted bottles of wine, and the chance to win a lakeside weekend holiday.

Christmas Market on Király Street
With abundant natural light despite being roofed, Central Passage will have virtually anything on offer those with Christmas shopping fever could be looking for: delicacies by small-scale producers (chocolate, syrups, salami, jams, oils, cheeses, vegetable spreads), design gifts (bags, lamps, clocks, mugs) and hand-made craft products (jewelry, crocheted accessories, plasticine presents). Naturally, market-goers can sip on mulled wine as well as special types of coffee and tea, and sample the best pastries in the city.

Christmas festivities at Gozsdu Udvar
Gozsdu Udvar also joins the Christmas festivities in Budapest until December 23. All visitors will find something among the wide variety of programs at the cozy and colorful event full of Christmas treats. Buy unique, handcrafted designer products for your loved ones, enjoy the show put on by various market performers, admire the decorated Christmas tree and sample a selection of Christmas delicacies. Whoever visits this retro-cave can choose themselves a gift book, while several suitcases of toys await children. From 4pm - 5pm mulled wine only costs 5 forints at the entrance!!!!!

Advent at Liszt Ferenc Square
The square in front of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music hosts a Christmas market of handcrafted products. The Terézváros Christmas Market has a long-standing tradition: in the last month of the year the square is loud with the hustle and bustle of the arts and crafts fair. The regularly organised programs of the Academy are expected to attract a sophisticated crowd to the fair.

Advent in Óbuda
During the Advent season in December, Fő Square and Szentlélek Square are going to be filled with concerts, children’s programs and market vendors. Booths selling craft products as well as mulled wine will stand side by side with outdoor ovens producing chimney cake and lángos. Fans of ice-skating cannot miss testing the ice on the illuminated Fő Square ice rink.

Advent in Józsefváros
The holiday events of Józsefváros last until December 22 with Advent programs and a Christmas Craft Market on Horváth Mihály Square as well as in the Palace District. There are free concerts by Márta Sebestyén, Misztrál, Makám and many others, a craft and gastronomy market, a live Bethlehem with a petting zoo, and a gingerbread house. The area itself will be enchanting with the squares of Józsefváros specially decorated for the holidays.
