Budapest has no shortage of sightseeing experiences, but See Us Budapest takes it a step further – blending the joy of discovering the city with the magic of having your moments professionally photographed along the way.

We sat down with the four founders — Blanka, András, Milán, and Bálint — to hear how the idea came to life.

What inspired the idea to combine a sightseeing tour with a professional photoshoot?

I went to media class in high school, and photography became my hobby. I thought it would be interesting to use that skill, and as locals, we already know so much about the history of Budapest. So we started to work out a business plan with András. Milán and Bálint went to school with me, so the four of us decided to work on this project together.

- says Blanka. Their inspiration was simple: a shared love for Budapest and a desire to give visitors the chance to create lasting memories. Bálint explains that for many travellers — whether they're older and travelling alone, exploring solo, or simply not confident enough in a foreign language to ask strangers for help — getting good photos can be a real challenge.

Often, you have to rely on random passersby, and the results aren't always what you hoped for,” he says. We wanted to create an opportunity for people to capture their moments while also enjoying the city's sights.

Today, Milán and Bálint handle the photography, while Blanka and András lead the sightseeing — though the whole team also collaborates on content creation and photo sessions. With each member speaking different languages, they can offer tours in Hungarian, English, Spanish, and Italian, making the experience accessible to a wide range of visitors.

How did the name ‘See Us Budapest' come about?

Naming a business is no small task — it needs to be memorable, meaningful, and instantly tell you what the experience is about. In this case, the idea came from András, who wanted something that would tie together the photography and travel elements in a simple way. As András says,

See Us reflects the photography element — people can ‘see us' in professional photos taken in Budapest. We also liked that it could work if we extend to other Hungarian cities in the future.

So how does the sightseeing-plus-photoshoot concept work in practice?

It's a mix, says András. We talk about the history of buildings and the stories behind them, while Milán and Bálint capture photos in the background. But we're also very flexible — if guests want to stop for ice cream, for example, we're happy to recommend the best spots and go with the flow.

Launched officially in December 2024 (with social media going live in October), See Us Budapest currently offers two main options:

Both include the photoshoot, editing, and a free souvenir from Love Art Budapest Gallery. For kids under 9, it's free of charge, and family or group discounts are on the way. Photos are sent within 24 hours, after which guests can select their favourites for editing — the final images arrive within a week.

Reservations are best made at least 24 hours in advance, and a customised tour option may be added in the future. The team also hopes to extend tours to Buda's scenic spots, Budapest's famous ruin bars, and experiences designed specifically for locals who want the photoshoot element without the full sightseeing route.

With their passion for the city, eye for photography, and easygoing style, See Us Budapest has created something more than a tour — it's a way to see, feel, and remember Budapest in the most beautiful way possible.
