At the top of Vas utca, right next to the Bihary watch shop, you’ll find Cozy Studio — a place that’s impossible not to fall for. It feels like the kind of dream many of us have had: opening a creative space with friends. That shared passion and effort radiates through the vibe, and its location on one of the most liveable little streets near Blaha Lujza tér only adds to the charm. The old storefront has been refreshed with subtle colour that matches the building’s vintage window and door frames — a small touch that shows Cozy isn’t here to dominate the streetscape but to belong to it.
Inside, it’s the large communal table at the centre of the space that sets the tone. It’s where the ceramics workshops take place, and where locals gather in the mornings for coffee. The setup naturally encourages conversation and connection. Meanwhile, at the back of the shop, freshly moulded mugs and bowls dry before being fired in the in-house kiln. Thoughtful, welcoming, and quietly creative — Cozy is exactly what its name promises.
A passion project built on friendship and community
It’s inspiring to watch the full creative process unfold while sipping your coffee — sometimes from a cup handmade by the owners themselves. Zsófia Pap, Anna Jóföldi, and Fanni Hirkó are longtime friends who each came into hospitality from different backgrounds, all while juggling work, studies, and family life. Cozy , which opened in March, is more than just a café and workshop space — it’s their shared passion project, created for connection, creativity, and slowing down together. Practical, quick-thinking, and full of ideas, they’ve carved out time for something special — and it shows in every detail.

Of the trio, Anna brings the hospitality experience, while ceramics became a shared passion during the Covid years. They say it’s their way of slowing down — a chance to break free from the rush of everyday life and let the rhythm of the material take over. Clay has its own timeline, after all: drying and firing can’t be rushed. As for coffee, that’s Anna’s domain too, but her enthusiasm quickly rubbed off on the others, who’ve since become confident baristas in their own right.
they simply combined the things they all genuinely enjoy - creativity, coffee, and good company - into one shared space,
and you can feel that energy in every corner of Cozy. A terrace is on the way, and come winter, we can’t think of a better place to curl up with a coffee than by the warmth of the kiln.

Specialty Coffee Meets Ceramics
Cozy serves light-roast specialty coffee from Intó , alongside house-made lemonade, matcha lattes, and a refreshing matcha-tonic ( HUF 1,290) for warmer days. Espresso starts at HUF 690, cappuccino at HUF 990 — a solid line-up for coffee lovers — and there’s a tempting selection of baked goods to go with your drink. While takeaway is an option, we recommend staying for the full experience: your coffee comes in one of the handmade ceramic cups crafted by the owners themselves. When we visited, they were running low — a recent pop-up saw them nearly sell out, and it’s no wonder. The cups are as charming as the space itself.

You can sign up for Cozy’s ceramics workshops right on-site. Led by the founders themselves, the sessions are limited to just six people, creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where you can truly unwind and get hands-on with clay. Each class lasts around three hours, and after a few days of drying and firing, your handmade cup is ready to take home. Opening hours reflect the café-meets-studio setup — coffee is served from 7.30 am on weekdays (and 9 am on weekends) until 2 pm, after which the workshops begin.

Cozy Studio strikes a rare balance between creativity and calm — a space that invites you in, even if you're just passing by. It’s not loud or showy, but it quietly knows exactly what makes a place feel good to be in.
