Pig Feast with Chef Lajos Bíró

On 7 March, ODA restaurant will host a stop on Buja Disznók's seasonal pig feast series. For this special occasion, renowned chef Lajos Bíró will take the reins, bringing along the finest cuts to prepare a festive feast right before your eyes. Expect succulent roast pork with sausage, mashed potatoes, crispy fried blood with onions, and liver sausage with eggs – all straight from the open kitchen.

Women's Day Plant Fair 

At Plante, the Scandinavian-inspired shop on Madách tér, they're making sure no one goes without a beautiful bouquet this Women's Day. Bright yellow mimosa has arrived, along with spring favorites like tulips and daffodils - perfect for surprising a loved one. Pre-orders are open on their webshop until 6 March, but if you miss the deadline, don't worry! You can still pick up flowers in-store on 7 and 8 March.

Typo Showroom Winter Sale

On 7-8 March, hunt for vintage treasures at unbeatable prices - think HUF 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 deals, plus extra racks and bargain boxes to dig through. The stock will be refreshed multiple times a day, so no need to rush in at opening. Expect welcome drinks during the day, and DJ sets in the evening: Solar Things on Friday and Vedat Akdağ on Saturday. Plus, every purchase comes with a raffle ticket, giving one lucky shopper the chance to win back the cost of their haul!

Exhibition: Lăzarea 50 – A Contemoprary View Card

The Lăzarea Artists' Colony, which has been thriving in the heart of Transylvania for 50 years and earned the prestigious Hungarian Heritage Award, has grown into an internationally recognized artistic phenomenon. Its five-decade legacy proves that with a strong vision, significant creative hubs and innovative artistic strategies can flourish even far from major cultural centers.

To mark this milestone, a series of exhibitions kicked off in 2024, culminating in a major spring showcase at Kunsthalle. Opening on 7 March, the exhibition presents a carefully curated selection that captures the spirit of place (genius loci) while embracing thematic and stylistic diversity. Through the concept of ‘the Lăzarea quality', it aims to highlight the universal artistic values that define the colony's rich heritage, which you can view until 27 April.

Women's Day Brunch at Flava Kitchen & More

Gather your brunch crew, it's time to celebrate womanhood! Chic downtown restaurant Flava Kitchen & More is about to spoil all women with delicious bites and some workout sessions. Their special Women's Day Brunch will be filled with good vibes - a live DJ set is taking care of that (between 11 am and 4 pm). You can even sign up for one of a Glow Community Pilates sessions before succumbing to the well-deserved brunch.

She Shines - Women's Day at W Budapest

Stunning W Budapest, right across the Opera House, is making Women's Day a big deal. And hurray on that. The Hungarian National Gallery, the one and only in the Buda Castle, is hosting a guided tour - but Women's Day styled. During a one-hour visit, you'll focus strictly on women: creators, models, muses, so many roles! And that's not an event you should miss! Especially becasue afterwards, you can keep celebrating women with a special selection of desserts and a toast.

Ceramic Fair and Coffee Tasting Workshop at Fabrika

On 8 March, coffee lovers take centre stage at mid-century furniture shop Fabrika! First, you can browse through the ceramics by Hungarian maker Marékműhely, then you can join a coffee tasting workshop. Not only will you get a closer look at the coffees, but also the stories behind them – from the plant to the cup.

The workshop is available at three different times, and due to limited spots, registration is required in advance. You can sign up by emailing info@studiofabrika.com.

Party: NVC XX w/ Extrawelt

The NVC creative team is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a massive party at Turbina on 8 March. Headlining the night is Germany's Extrawelt, who have been shaping the techno scene for two decades, blending a forward-thinking approach with minimalist techno traditions. The local lineup will be just as exciting, featuring electrifying B2B sets and a mix of familiar faces and rising talents behind the decks.

WAMP Design Market

As a treat for the lovers of local designer goodies, WAMP Design Market is popping up at the beautiful Eiffel Art Studios this Sunday (10 am - 6 pm). The building belongs to the Hungarian Opera House and is filled with intriguing spaces. You'll have the chance to browse unique, small-batch creations, ranging from clothing, jewellery, and accessories to home decor, photography, and even gourmet treats. And even join a scented candle making workshop.

Concert: Femi Kuti & Positive Force (NG)

Femi Kuti, afrobeat legend and son of Fela Kuti, has built his own legacy as a musician, composer, and activist. Since founding Positive Force in 1980, he's earned four Grammy nominations, worked with Common and Coldplay, and even had his own GTA IV radio station. His concerts are both electrifying performances and calls for social justice. Catch him live at Müpa Budapest on 9 March!
