FARM CIDER & CHILL - CIDER TASTING AT BUDAPEST BIKE MAFFIA FARM
On 7 August, the Budapest Bike Maffia Farm turns into a laid-back meeting point for lovers of Hungarian cider. Visitors can taste and buy bottled varieties from Czider Cider and Bright Cider, while meeting the makers and learning more about the stories and processes behind their drinks. With music setting the mood, the evening offers an easy-going introduction to Hungary's growing cider scenein the relaxed surroundings of the farm.

BUDAPEST PLAY - BUDAPEST STREET MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026
Budapest Play is in full swing, with three more days of live music still to come on 6, 7 and 8 August. Launched for the first time this summer by Sziget Festival and Budapest Park, the new street music festival brings 50-60 musicians to ten locations around the city. On Friday, keep an ear out as you pass spots such as Deák Ferenc Square, Batthyány Square, Margaret Island and Keleti railway station - your usual journey across Budapest might just come with an unexpected live soundtrack.

TAKE A WALK ALONG ONE OF BUDAPEST’S LEAFIEST STREETS
If Friday calls for something a little slower, take advantage of the long summer evening with a walk beneath some of Budapest's most impressive tree canopies. Tóth Árpád Promenade pairs shade with beautiful views from Buda Castle, Hamvas Béla Promenade follows the Danube beneath century-old plane trees, while Városligeti Avenue combines old chestnut trees with some seriously beautiful architecture. OMNIOZIS X KARMOLÓS - MICROFESTIVAL AT ART QUARTER BUDAPEST
On 8 August, Omniozis launches at Art Quarter Budapest as a new progressive microfestival series from the Karmolós collective. The music moves between post-punk and electronic sounds, with Germany's Cosey Mueller and Schulverweis bringing their raw, experimental approach, joined by Hungarian post-punk duo Denevér. Later in the evening, electronic music takes over with Swiss artists Andris and Valdemar alongside DJ Titus. Beyond the line-up, the festival also features a vintage clothing market, site-specific installations and audiovisual experiences throughout the venue.

INTERNATIONAL GIPSY SONG DAY 2026
On 8 August, International Gipsy Song Day returns for its fifth edition, with events taking place at several locations across Hungary. This year's festival pays tribute to legendary North Macedonian singer Esma Redžepova, marking ten years since her death. The House of Music Hungary serves as the main Budapest venue, welcoming Serbian trumpeter Bojan Krstić and his band, WOMEX Lifetime Achievement Award and Kossuth Prize-winning singer Mónika Lakatos with Romengo and cimbalom player Jenő Lisztes, as well as Polish artist Megitza.

MARA: GORDO, DYZEN, MATU - PARTY IN BUDA CASTLE
One of Budapest's newest electronic music series, MARA, makes its debut on 8 August in the spectacular surroundings of Buda Castle's Lion Courtyard. Headlining the first edition is GORDO, the internationally renowned DJ and producer known for his collaborations with Drake, including several of the rapper's major projects. He'll be joined by Afterlife artist DYZEN, while MATU represents the local electronic scene, setting the stage for a Saturday night of melodic house in one of Budapest's most iconic settings.

BRÓDY SONGS DAY
On 9 August, ahead of Sziget Festival, some of Hungary's best-known musicians will come together for a major concert celebrating János Bródy's 80th birthday. Bródy Songs Day will revisit iconic songs from Illés, Fonográf and István, a király, alongside highlights from Bródy's solo career. The impressive line-up includes Azahriah, Bagossy Brothers Company, Beton.Hofi, Dzsúdló, Gábor Presser, Zsuzsa Koncz, András Lovasi, Charlie, Gyula Deák Bill, Judit Halász, Hobo and Wellhello.

TAKE A SUNDAY TRIP TO KŐVIRÁG X PAN’NI ARTIZÁN
In Köveskál, in the Káli Basin, beloved Kővirág has entered a new chapter this summer with a Pan'ni Artizán pop-up. Instead of simply recreating its Budapest brunch spot, the Pan'ni team has adapted the concept to its Balaton surroundings, combining its sourdough breads and familiar breakfast dishes with Kővirág favourites, seasonal ingredients and a distinctly slower pace. On Sundays, the Köveskál pop-up is open from 9am to 3pm, making it an excellent excuse for a long breakfast followed by a day exploring the Balaton Uplands.

END THE WEEKEND WITH SUSHI AT SUSI BY CORK
For an easy-going Sunday plan, head to Újlipótváros for sushi at SUSI by Cork. Tucked away on Radnóti Miklós Street, the restaurant is a good excuse to slow things down over beautifully presented sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes before the weekend comes to an end. Pair it with a stroll around the neighbourhood or along the nearby Danube for a relaxed Sunday afternoon.
