In Alcsútdoboz, just an hour from Budapest, a charming arboretum invites you on a flower-filled adventure: snowdrop blooming. They won’t be around for long, but you still have a good chance to admire them this week.

Spring is officially here! You can feel it in the mild temperatures, the sunshine – and also the blooming flowers. While we have to wait for cherry blossoms and tulips, snowdrops are already putting on a stunning show.

Bear in mind that they're protected flowers, so hands off! But don't worry – you can still admire them in their natural habitat while taking a scenic stroll. Alcsút Arboretum is the perfect spot for that, with a massive, one-of-a-kind flower field featuring seven species and 24 types of these delicate blooms.

The bloom time depends on the weather (this year's chilly February delayed things a bit), but you can always check their Facebook page for updates. You can visit every day from 10 am to 5 pm, with the last entry at 4 pm – except on 6 March, when the garden will be closed for filming. Tickets cost HUF 2,400 with discounted entry available for HUF 1,800.

How to get there?

Your destination is Alcsútdoboz, just a 40-minute drive away by car or an hour-long public transport journey. Alternatively, take bus S10 or S12 from Kelenföld Station towards Győr, change to bus 702 in Bicske, and get off at Alcsútdoboz (községháza). Plan your trip here.
