Fresh ingredients, sourced locally

Chef Róbert Melis has curated a seasonal selection that highlights the best of local ingredients. Summer was the time of sourdough dishes, but in autumn, the focus shifts to seasonal delights.

THINK CRANBERRIES, WALNUTS, PUMPKIN, PARSNIPS, CAULIFLOWER, AND BEETROOT, ALL SOURCED FROM NEARBY PRODUCERS.

Melis' commitment to quality and locality is evident in every dish. He personally connects with suppliers, ensuring the freshest and most flavourful ingredients make their way to your plate.

A culinary journey from dawn to dusk

Andrássy Garden caters to all appetites throughout the day. Starting bright and early at 6:30 am, both hotel guests and tourists can fuel up for the day with a hearty breakfast. Choose from a delectable buffet spread featuring pastries, hot options with eggs and fruit, and even Hungarian, French, and English breakfast specialties. Breakfast lasts until 10 am, seamlessly transitioning to the midday business lunch available from 12 noon to 3 pm on weekdays. This menu changes weekly, showcasing seasonal ingredients and catering to the busy lunchtime crowd.

But the culinary adventure doesn't stop there. Andrássy Garden offers a diverse à la carte menu with something for everyone. A true Hungarian favourite, both for locals and visitors, is the lángos. This deep-fried flatbread boasts a satisfyingly oily texture and irresistible savoury flavour. In the spirit of the season, the autumn menu features lángos topped with Hungarian truffle pesto and dried tomatoes. The creamy topping takes an innovative turn with a light and airy sour cream foam piped from a siphon, adding a delightful textural counterpoint to the crispy edges and soft centre of the dough. To elevate the experience further, the lángos is finished with high-quality cheese from a master cheesemaker in rural Dunaharaszti, trained in the Swiss tradition.

Another perennial favourite is the Andrássy Salad, a seasonal masterpiece that changes with the times. Currently, soft, sweet pumpkin cubes dance alongside toasted walnuts, dried cranberries, and two rings of grilled goat's cheese. The honey-mustard house dressing elevates the dish, creating a harmonious blend of flavours and textures.

IT'S THE EPITOME OF AUTUMNAL INDULGENCE – A DISH WE COULD SAVOR ALL DAY LONG.

Catering to international palates, salmon remains a staple on the menu. However, Andrássy Garden puts a unique twist on this classic dish. Grilled salmon is paired with a surprising beetroot cream. Fear not, though! This isn't your ordinary beetroot. A zesty lime infusion cuts through the earthy flavour, creating a refreshing and unexpected complement to the fish. The plate is further adorned with roasted beetroot in balsamic vinegar, toasted curly kale, and mustard caviar. This artful combination of flavours and textures is a testament to the chef's creativity.

Boar, once a common sight on restaurant menus, has somewhat fallen out of favour. Its strong, gamey flavour can intimidate some diners. However, Chef Robi's approach is a revelation.

BY BRAISING THE BOAR IN CHOKEBERRY JUS, THE MEAT IS TRANSFORMED INTO A TENDER, SWEET, AND REFRESHING DISH.

The rich taste is perfectly complemented by the creamy mashed parsnips, cooked to buttery perfection and topped with crunchy crisps. The addition of Brussels sprouts rounds out this hearty and satisfying meal.

For vegetarian diners, the cauliflower steak is a must-try. This vibrant dish features white, purple, and pink cauliflower steaks, grilled to perfection and then baked in the oven. The creamy cauliflower puree, infused with milk and butter, adds a luxurious touch. The pickled cauliflower, with its tangy apple cider vinegar flavour, provides a delightful contrast. The parsley oil adds a burst of freshness, while the toasted cashews provide a satisfying crunch.

The paleo beetroot brownie was a delightful surprise.

This unexpected, all-allergenic-free combination creates a complex and satisfying flavour profile. The brownie's texture is enhanced by homemade oatmeal crumbs, and a subtle hint of walnut adds depth to each bite. This dessert is a testament to the fact that healthy and delicious can coexist.

The gluten-free pear and almond cake is another standout. The almond flour base provides a light and airy foundation for the luscious butterscotch cream and pear jelly. The cake is adorned with homemade fudge decorations and a crunchy topping, elevating the dessert to new heights.

Andrássy Garden's new autumn/winter menu offers a delectable array of dishes, with a special focus on goose dishes during St Martin's Day. From November 8th to 11th, a 3-course menu will be available, featuring exquisite dishes like smoked goose breast with elderflower jelly and beluga lentils, and rosé duck breast with foie gras, venison, pine nut croquettes, and thyme zucchini cream. The meal is capped off with a decadent goose leg cake, adorned with amarena sour cherry and pumpkin seed crunch. To complement these culinary delights, the restaurant offers a carefully curated selection of wines. For a refreshing non-alcoholic option, try the Andrássy lemonade with grapefruit, rose water, and a touch of vanilla, or the sugar-free strawberry version.

Andrássy Garden is also the perfect place to celebrate special occasions. Gift vouchers are available for those seeking to surprise loved ones with a memorable dining experience. The restaurant caters to families with kids' menus featuring playful names like I'm not hungry (chicken nuggets) and I want nothing (spaghetti).
