Halloween Pop-up Fair at the Stranger Café

One of the cosiest cafés in Újlipótváros,  Stranger Café , is gearing up for a hip, Halloween-themed pop-up fair. On  October 25th and 26th , you’ll find everything from crocheted pieces and prints to jewellery and eco-friendly bags made from pineapple skin. Plus, there’s a bag painting workshop you can join in on!

Vineta Bar at the Fény utca Market – Soft Opening

Vineta Bar  brings the best of traditional  Transylvanian flavours  to the table, with their signature  smoky eggplant spread  as the star of the show. They're kicking things off with a soft opening weekend on October 25th and 26th at  Fény utca Market . Expect fresh ingredients and pantry treasures straight from Transylvania. Stop by to taste their freshly made vineta, potato bread, and a variety of hearty Transylvanian soups.

Halloween at the Zoo

October 25th promises to be a  special and spooky evening  at the  Budapest Zoo . After closing its gates at 5 pm, they'll reopen at 6 pm for a bonus Halloween night. You can join  festive activities  like bat observation in the Dark Labyrinth, a fire show, and a zombie dance performance. Surely enough, the classic seal show and a chance to meet the elephant colony will still be part of the fun, which wraps up at 11 pm.

Tribute Halloween

If you're a true rock fan, mark your calendar for October 25th at Dürer Kert, where tribute bands for Guns N' Roses, Rammstein, Metallica, and Judas Priest will take the stage to make you roar. The night will cap off with a banging afterparty, and with Halloween just around the corner, expect a costume contest and a few surprises for the spooky season.

Bottomless Brunch & Beats

If brunch is your love language, get ready for an indulgent experience at the newly opened Kimpton BEM Budapest. You'll be treated to endless bubbly (Kreinbacher), brunch favourites by Chef Attila Fehér, and live DJ sets on Saturdays at AGOS restaurant. The menu features a flame-cooked dish each week, from Hungarian gulyás to Mediterranean fish soup and comforting stews.

MOME Fair Fall

Drop by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design's design fair and browse through a massive selection of products made by the students. You can get your hands on prints, ceramics, fashion accessories and many other unique items, straight from the activity, you'll surely find the perfect option at the MOME Fair at the K11 Art and Culture Center (Király utca 11.).

Madách Flea Market

If you prefer a good old treasure hunt, especially if the treasures are vintage, streetwear, or y2k, head to the gate of Budapest'sJewish district and browse through pieces at Madách tér. The Flea Market will be open from midday to 5 pm, giving you enough time to both shop and neck a spritzer in one of the surrounding bars.

Budapest Charity Pumpkin Festival

As a tradition, on October 26th, you can bring your artfully carved pumpkins to the iconic landmark Heroes' Square where hundreds of Halloween pumpkins are traditionally lit. Beginning at 7 pm, anyone can place their jack-o'-lanterns around the semi-circular colonnade of historic Hungarian heroes. Participants are also encouraged to bring a few cartons, cans or boxes of non-perishable food – festival organisers will deliver these edible donations to children in need.

Vegan week at Pingrumba

Pingrumba, a brilliant Middle Eastern eatery at Széll Kálmán tér, went fully vegan for a week to show that plant-based cuisine is a world of exciting possibilities. Although this special week is drawing to an end, you'll still have the chance to try their traditionally meaty dishes swapped out for veggie alternatives.

Car-free embankment – Closing weekend

The lower Pest embankment between Margaret Bridge and Elizabeth Bridge has been car-free from spring, and now is closing for the winter. But not without a proper send-off! Join a two-day farewell event on October 26th and 27th, with Saturday’s lineup including T-shirt screen printing, board games, a DJ set, and a jazz-postrock concert. On Sunday, you can enjoy a cosy BBQ dinner, following a fun table-setting workshop. To keep the chill away, Viadukt Bar will be serving up mulled wine, while the Budaörs Brass Band, Ledpuppets, and DJ Panda keep the vibes going all evening.

World Press Photo Exhibition 2024

October 27th is the last day you can catch the annual World Press Photo travelling exhibition, which is a must-see for those appreciating the world of photography and journalism. It  revisits the biggest news of the past year by portraying the many milestones through striking photojournalism. The collection will be on view at a very special location: the Zoo's magnificent  Biodome .
