For this week’s picture gallery, instead of the usual cityscapes and panoramas, our photographers pay a visit to Budapest Zoo, where meerkats pose for the lens and baby aardvarks slumber.

Animals cannot fail to make a good photograph and Budapest Zoo is especially blessed with all kinds of weird and wonderful creatures. Some have been born there, such as the giant anteater while others are honoured guests, invited here to breed, like the amorous red panda in 2020. The zoo itself is an architectural wonder, a treat for fans of Art Nouveau close to City Park.
