The kitchen at Michelin-starred Costes Downtown is being taken over by Márk Molnár. The Hungarian chef has returned home after 20 years, having worked at 23 restaurants, six with Michelin stars.

A new era has begun at Costes, Hungary’s first restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star back in 2010. Hungarian chef Márk Molnár is taking over from Miguel Rocha Vieira, CEO of the Costes Group, who was responsible for elevating the groundbreaking original restaurant to this illustrious status 12 years ago.

Since then, the Costes on Ráday utca was joined by Costes Downtown on Vigyázó Ferenc utca. Both currently hold Michelin stars.

Vieira is being replaced by Márk Molnár, who also played a major role in the launch of N28 Wine and Kitchen on Nagymező utca a few months ago.

Having worked in the UK, the USA, France, Spain, Japan, Vietnam and Dubai, Molnár can now help to steer Hungary’s fine-dining trend in his home country.
