A seasonal favourite for Hungarians, a live performance of Tchaikovsky ballet The Nutcracker can be enjoyed online for free over Christmas thanks to a special promotion by the Opera House.

It’s a show that has attracted generations of Hungarians every Christmas – now fairy-tale ballet The Nutcracker is being broadcast by the Opera House via its Facebook page.

The performance can be seen between the afternoon of 24 December and midnight on 26 December.
