A promenade, a modern market, a shopping centre and flats are to be built on Bosnyák tér, a long-neglected trading and transport hub in District XIV, east Pest. The plans are being drawn up by the world-famous Zaha Hadid Architects, responsible for the London Aquatics Centre and Riverside Museum in Glasgow.

Bosnyák tér may not be one of the most beautiful squares in town but this should soon change. Behind is an area of over six hectares, where a new project will take shape, improving the locality and promoting its liveability.

Plans include a promenade, a modern market and an underground garageoffice buildings by Csömöri út, flats and a shopping centre where Bosnyák utca faces the Rákos stream.

You can see mock designs here, on the Architects’ Forum site (Hungarian-only). The developer’s long-term aim is to create a new hub to redefine the district, and link it by association with world-famous Zaha Hadid Architects.
