Over five days starting 19 December, Budapest City Council is providing 5,000 free Covid tests for local citizens at four locations: downtown Városháza park, Etele tér in Buda, Keleti station and Széna tér. Results are given in 30 minutes. Registration is required, as is proof of address.

According to the Facebook post of Budapest mayor Gergely Karácsony, the capital will soon be laying on 5,000 free Covid tests for local citizens. Four sites will be in operation between 19-23 December.

Covid-free Christmas

“We know that this amount is not enough for across-the-board testing,” said Karácsony in his address. “At the same time, this creates an opportunity for the first 5,000 Budapest applicants over the age of 18 with a local address card to find out, within 30 minutes and before the Christmas holidays, whether they are actively infected.”

Registration and more information are available here (Hungarian-only).
