Budapest’s Christmas trolley helps children in need

Ding ding! Budapest’s Christmas trolley done out in festive lights has just set off on routes around town, also helping to deliver sweets and presents to children in need.

The pandemic is not only making life difficult for families in need, but also for those delivering gifts. You can help by adding your donation on the special Christmas trolleybus lines 72M, 75, 76, 77, 80 and 83 until 19 December.

Some have also extended their routes, lines 75 and 77 going to Ferenc Puskás Stadium, while the 76 and 80 also run to Blaha Lujza tér. Buses operate with standard tickets and passes – mask-wearing a must, of course!

Schedules can be found here (Hungarian-only with an easy-to-use calendar and route details).

Illuminated trolleys will then run from 20 December until 6 January according to regular schedules, including during the day.
