Budapest may not have its Yuletide markets this year – but that doesn’t mean to say that the city isn’t celebrating tradition. The Christmas tram is back and running, lighting up several routes around the city until 6 January.
The official schedule of the Christmas tram,
illuminated for the season, has been posted up by Budapest transport company
BKK. Up to 6 January, lines 2, 19, 42, 47, 49, 50, 56A, 59,
62A and 69 are dressed up for the season, the number 47 over Liberty Bridge on
Fridays, the riverside 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Services start at 3pm and
finish around 7pm. Standard tickets and passes are valid – and, of course,
masks compulsory.
