Part of the Haller Delta project to link up various areas of south Pest, a new tram junction has just been unveiled connecting line 24 from Keleti station and line 2 along the Danube. The hub now allows for route 2M to run from Budapest’s main train terminus to vital points around the city, connecting with Nagyvárad tér on blue metro line 3, Boráros tér on the Grand Boulevard and stops along the river.
The Haller Delta project also encompasses the replacement of old public lighting for energy-saving LED illumination, step-free tram stops, tree-planting and new telecommunication cables. All is expected to be ready by the end of 2020.
