According to an announcement by Budapest transport company BKK, a new pair of tracks will be established between Haller utca and Soroksári út, and the existing southerly connection will also be renewed. As a result, passengers will be able to travel in a total of six directions at the Soroksári út junction.
During the long-term renovation of the M3 metro line, the new tram route will also provide alternative access to the city centre without having to change at Nagyvárad tér.
Stops will be renovated and made step-free. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
