All workers in health care can now travel free on Budapest public transport and around Hungary on trains and nationwide buses thanks to a new ruling just announced by city mayor Gergely Karácsony.
The move, allowing professionals in health care to use Budapest city transport (BKK), suburban rail (HÉV), State-run Hungarian railway (MÁV) and nationwide bus (VOLÁNBUSZ) services for free, comes in recognition of ‘their outstanding work during the epidemic’. Workers will be required to have the relevant documentation on them while travelling.
