Apart from all the other pressing concerns, a hurricane-like snowstorm has been raging through Budapest – only a few days ago it was almost 20 degrees and birds were chirping. This is how Gellért Hill and its surroundings looked today in this unexpected spring snowfall.

At least the weather helps to encourage people to stay at home during the current quarantine. Fortunately, it’s not nearly as disastrous as the memorable big snowfall of March 2013, when thousands were stranded on the roads or shut in.
