Budapest e-car sharing service GreenGo is expanding its remit to include the city’s airport, Liszt Ferenc International. Thanks to an agreement with the Airport Hotel Budapest in nearby Vecsés, drivers may use the VIP car park then take a short shuttle to the terminal, avoiding onerous parking fees. At the same time, six new charging stations are being opened by the electric car fleet.

This e-car airport service will be free for the initial trial period, up to the end of August. Those coming into Budapest simply take the quick shuttle to the GreenGo car park, then drive off.

“We have been looking for a solution to airport transfers for some time,” said GreenGo CEO Bálint Michaletzky. “This should be convenient for our customers as they only need to walk a short distance to or from the shuttle and can fill up at six new charging points.”

The GreenGo car-sharing service in Budapest started in 2016 and operates exclusively with electric vehicles around the city. Its fleet of 300 cars can be used by drivers with a mobile application according to a per-minute fee.
