From this Thursday, 30 May, 2,000 more tickets are going on sale for the superstar headliner at Budapest's biggest summer party, the Sziget Festival. Day tickets to see UK singer Ed Sheeran on 7 August have long gone, so Sziget organisers decided to make slight alterations to the viewing space to accommodate disappointed fans who missed out first time round.

Organised every summer on an island just outside Budapest, Sziget Festival is Europe’s most diverse. This year, the seven-day extravaganza brings more of the world’s biggest acts to Hungary, including Foo Fighters, The National and Florence + The Machine. Ed Sheeran was the first big announcement for 2019 – and the first to sell out.

Now Sziget CEO Tamás Kádár says: “There was huge interest in the Ed Sheeran concert for the opening day of the festival, so it was no wonder that the day tickets were gone in no time. Finally, we decided to increase the viewing space with minimal alteration of the area around the Main Stage, so it’s possible for another 2,000 people to enjoy the concert in comfort”.
