Budapest’s summer music festival Sziget is spreading warmth even in winter. For the holiday season, festival organisers have donated six autographed guitars, each signed by a major performer at Sziget 2018, including Mumford & Sons, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher and the Arctic Monkeys. The signed instruments are currently being auctioned on the website Charitybuzz, with proceeds going to the local branch of Superar, an international organisation providing free music-related education to children with limited or no access to cultural support.

As part of the festival’s ongoing Love Revolution campaign, a new Sziget charity programme is geared towards supporting music education of underprivileged children. To help this cause, Sziget has donated half a dozen guitars to Superar Hungary, an organisation offering free, high-quality musical training to children in need.

Each musical instrument on offer has been signed by a major performer, namely Lana Del Rey, Mumford & Sons, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Shawn Mendes and Damon Albarn. These black-coloured guitars are also enhanced with the Sziget logo and messages of the Love Revolution campaign.

Bidding for the six guitars is now open on Charitybuzz.com, a website that raises funds for non-profit organisations through online charity auctions involving major brands and celebrities. The auction will run for 14 days. Learn more about this collaboration here.

The first headliners have already been announced for Sziget 2019, taking place 7-13 August at its regular location on Óbuda Island. Among the stars now confirmed are Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Twenty One Pilots, Florence and the Machine, and The 1975. Visit the official Sziget website for ticket information.
