In a new English-friendly video, created by the Hungarian Tourism Agency and provided to We Love Budapest, the winter attractions of Pécs & Harkány are brought to life.
Beginning with atmospheric scenes around the thermal waters of Harkány, viewers are taken around the Bishopric of Pécs and the city’s World Heritage monuments.
We stay in Pécs to discover its Zsolnay Cultural Quarter before a visit to the Kodály Centre for a concert by the Pécs Philharmonic Orchestra.
We then leave the city to explore the wine country of Villány, sampling as we go, before ascending the highest peak of the surrounding Western Mecsek hills and diving back into town and the exotic delights of Pécs Zoo, where our winter tour ends.
How to get there from Budapest:Trains leave Keleti Station every two hours for Pécs, journey time three hours. Change in Pécs for Villány, journey time 40 minutes, from Budapest an overall four hours. Harkány is currently poorly served by public transport.
