The first names have just been announced for the 2018 Sziget Festival, Budapest’s week-long outdoor music extravaganza. Liam Gallagher, Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Bastille and Lykke Li are among the performers confirmed for this multi-stage jamboree due to take place between August 8th and 15th on Óbuda Island. More names can be expected to follow next week. The 2018 festivities will promote the festival’s new Love Revolution initiative and will invite revelers to stand up for a specific cause, such as peace, a green planet or anti-racism.

Sziget is back, just in time to beat the winter (and Monday) blues. Today, festival organizers announced their preliminary list on the official Sziget website, featuring the first names confirmed for the 2018 jamboree. Stars include American rapper Kendrick Lamar, winner of multiple Grammy Awards, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, London alt-folk combo Mumford and Sons, UK indie faves Bastille and Norwegian house DJ KYGO.

Indian-influenced Swedish chanteuse Lykke Li is another confirmed name, as well as hobo blues hero Seasick Steve, El Paso ambient band Cigarettes After Sex, and Buffalo rockers the Goo Goo Dolls. Sziget organizers also announced an extension to their discount Early Bird ticket scheme, now due to run through January 31st.
