If you want to submerge yourself in the rejuvenating pleasures in the Hungarian capital, retreat to the historic Corinthia Hotel Budapest, housing the opulent Royal Spa. Dating back to the 19th century and designed by Hungarian architect Vilmos Freund, this fine facility for recreation is complete with a clean-yet-classy design, featuring slender columns and mosaic fittings. Soakers bask in plenty of natural light infiltrating through the colorful windows by renowned Hungarian stained-glass artist Miksa Róth.
Accessible both from the hotel lobby and from the street entrance on Erzsébet körút, this historic space offers plenty of modern-day amenities to spa guests. The centerpiece is a spacious 15-meter-long swimming pool, designed to suit the royal atmosphere. After a few laps, guests can indulge in a range of soothing services, including a steam bath, sauna, aromatherapy and revitalizing treatments, including Abhyanga massages, hot stone rubs, salt and oil scrubs and skin-radiance facials.
Those who would like to share the Royal Spa experience as a Christmas present can purchase a special gift card at the hotel with the desired spa treatments, tickets or membership. The Royal Spa is open every day from 6:30am to 10pm and treatments are available from 8am to 8pm. Children under 16 can use the pool area under adult supervision from 11am to 3pm. A full-day ticket to the spa costs 8,900 forints and a half-day ticket providing entrance on weekdays costs 5,500 forints.
