As Budapest becomes an increasingly popular city for both business and pleasure travelers, several low-cost airlines have recently announced plans to expand their services to connect the Magyar metropolis with many new international destinations, including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Marrakesh, and beyond. Wizz Air, easyJet, and Ryanair are all adding new Budapest flight routes to their schedules.

Hungary-based discount airline Wizz Air is in the process of dramatically increasing its number of destinations accessible by direct flights from Budapest. Beginning in April, Wizz Air will provide several new connections between Budapest Airport and West Balkan cities: Skopje in Macedonia, Podgorica in Montenegro, Tirana in Albania, Prishtina in Kosovo, and Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, Wizz Air will launch a new Budapest-Bordeaux route on September 22nd, and in December Wizz Air will start providing daily service between Budapest and Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, after expanding their services with direct flights from Budapest to Lyon and Venice in 2016, British low-cost airline easyJet successfully launched a Budapest-Amsterdam route in February. Furthermore, in early March, Ireland’s Ryanair no-frills airline announced plans to add a Budapest-Marrakesh route that will operate twice weekly beginning in winter 2017. We look forward to welcoming more Budapest visitors from all of these cities throughout the upcoming months!
