Budapest’s BKK public-transportation company has issued a public-procurement tender to install wireless internet on the Combino trams operating on line 4-6, along with new security cameras and a passenger-information system.
Two or three years ago, the first plans surfaced to install free Wi-Fi on Budapest’s 4-6 trams, but these proposals were ultimately shelved. However, the city’s BKK public-transportation company has now put out a public procurement tender to make multiple improvements to the Combino trams of line 4-6, for which candidates can apply to provide their services until April. These Combinos should soon have new security cameras, a passenger-information system, and free Wi-Fi, as well.
