Sunshine and moonlight intermingle in these fantastic images by French photographer Greg Florent, showcasing the most spectacular sights of Budapest. If viewers cover one half of each photo and then the other half, it is easy to assume that they see two different pictures taken from the same spot. Additionally, the artist’s dazzling time-lapse video taken during his stay in the Magyar metropolis presents many of the city’s monumental sights, highlighting why they are appealing subjects for photographers day and night.

French photographer Greg Florenttook photos of Budapest’s most significant sights, buildings, squares, and bridges during his two-month-long stay in the Magyar metropolis. The peculiarity of these pictures is that the photographer mashes photos taken at different times of the day, presenting the city bathed in natural light spanning dawn to darkness in one photograph. In his own words, Florent sought to portray “Buda and Pest – two characters separated by the Danube; day and night – two atmospheres separated by an invisible thread.” In addition to these pictures, he also took a time-lapse video with the title Budapest “Daynight” that leads us through the time when darkness falls on the city as the lights of the Budapest bridges start to radiate, with the Danube rushing rapidly and the Sziget Eye spinning fast. We hope that Florent will return to Budapest to continue creating such time-transcending imagery in the near future!
