Hard Rock Cafe’s momentous mottos, like “Love All – Serve All” and “Take Time to be Kind” are not unfamiliar to patrons of this celebrated restaurant chain, and philanthropy has been ingrained in the DNA of the Hard Rock brand ever since its founding in 1971. The world-famous eatery supported numerous charity-benefiting events in 2015, such as the Pinktober campaign that raised awareness of the importance for early detection and the fight against breast cancer in October, or the launch of meatless meals on the menu to celebrate Vegetarian Awareness Month. The esteemed eatery now rocks another good deed by supporting grassroots solutions to prevent hunger for children and families worldwide, and to make the message loud and clear, Hard Rock teamed up with peace activist Yoko Ono Lennon and the WhyHunger organization for the eighth year to spread the word about the “IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER” campaign, an activity inspired by John Lennon and his monumental song, “Imagine”.
Over the years, IMAGINE has helped communities grow sufficient food to provide a wealth of nutritious meals in 31 countries worldwide, and above all the campaign has supported programs that taught nearly 50,000 people how to create sustained food production, while also raising more than $6.8 million to help defeat childhood hunger.
Now anyone can contribute to the cause by purchasing IMAGINE merchandise at Hard Rock properties around the world. Through the end of this year, the Hard Rock Cafe Budapest is offering limited-edition IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER campaign bracelets in multiple colors for a 500-forint donation, with 100% of the proceeds going to provide training and education to help create and grow sustainable farms and communities around the world.
If you’re visiting the Christmas Fair at Vörösmarty Square this month, stop by the Hard Rock to help turn John Lennon’s dream of a world with no hunger into reality!
