From one moment to the next it seems the city has been dipped in colour. Now, no matter what the temperature is, we know that spring is finally here! Beautiful cherry blossoms, too, have arrived and one of the spots where you can see these beautiful pink blooms is ELTE University's Füvészkert ("Botanical Garden" in English). We've collected some photos of the sunshine and blossoms - it's no wonder there were long lines to get in and secure a patch of grass for a picnic or quiet reading in the shade! What's more it was a sakura celebration too, so our photo gallery is all about the pink blooms.

The Japanese cherry tree and its magnetic blooms are a symbol of the cycle of life and rebirth. Hundreds flocked to ELTE's Botanical Garden at the weekend to enjoy the super warm weekend and were mesmerised by these pretty flowers. The cherry blossom is thought to originate in the Himalayas, and the sakura celebration has been a Japanese tradition for hundreds of years. "Hanami" is the practice of enjoying a picnic near one of the beautiful cherry blossoms and admiring its flowers in full bloom. We tried it at the weekend and it's very peaceful! It's worth heading to the Füvészkert to see these beautiful flowers, as well as the pink magnolias, which are currently in bloom as well.
