Facebook has launched a revamped version of its Messenger app, which now offers a whole suite of plugins to make messaging more holistic with video, text, images, stickers, GIFs and so forth. The best news is, it includes a Hungarian innovation, which will enrich the way we send messages via the social media giant.

ClipDis, an app by a Hungarian startup, is one of the plugins available and was highlighted by Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, as one of the new features of its revamped Messenger app. The app converts text to video by combining short clips of actors and animations reciting your words, which when combined creates a longer mash-up video of your message, kinda like a DIY movie scene.

ClipDis is among dozens of other apps added to the revamped Messenger, the plan for which was announced at a tech conference organised by the social media giant called F8.

The updates are available once users install the Messenger update on their smartphone, and will enable users to create original content (not just send messages, images and stickers) using third-party apps. Other new options include creating your own GIFs, visual effects and more. But don't worry, if you'd prefer to keep it simple, you can just keep the standard Messenger, or just add the apps you want to try.

Facebook says its staff were responsible for selecting the plugins to include, based on the apps they loved using. The social media giant says it's trying to help Messenger's 600 million users better express themselves. We're super happy for ClipDis and we've already had heaps of fun creating our own short clips using this cool Hungarian app.
