The newest edition of Lonely Planet Budapest has been published and we're super excited that the 6th edition mentions We Love Budapest! There are some cool new features in this edition and we recommend you get your hands on one ASAP.

If you flip to page 14 in the Need to Know section you'll find We Love Budapest mentioned as a useful website: "Latest info on openings and places to eat, shop, drink and dance." The new edition of the popular travel guide is full colour with some beautiful photos and a huge pull-out map which is perforated so you can take it with you separately.

The book is divided into nine different sections based on the different parts of the city such as Castle District, Parliament and around, Southern Pest, and City Park and beyond. Each section includes the top sights of the area, plus where to eat if you're nearby.

New things in this edition include info on the 1-year-old M4 metro line, the Mol Bubi bike share system, escape rooms, and the Castle Bazaar.

Lonely Planet Budapest includes guides to top 10 things to do and what to do with just a few days in the city. We love the "If you like..." section, so if you have a particular interest in communist heritage or Art Nouveau architecture or folk culture there are pro tips on where to find out more.

There's also a mini month-by-month calendar, a section for families with kids and a "like a local" guide. Of course there is plenty of information in the normal sections such as accommodation, eating, drinking and nightlife, and shopping as well as history and language. We also love the sections on thermal baths, Budapest's markets, coffee houses, day trips to nearby spots and Hungarian wines.

Steve Fallon is the coordinating author but this time he was joined by Sally Schafer whose contributions to the Drinking & Nightlife and the Sleeping chapters added to the guide. As a further bonus We Love Budapest's editor-in-chief Regina Papp and our very own We Love Budapest - English writer Nick Robertson are both mentioned in the "many thanks" section!
