The new flight-tracker called, WALTER, allows us to observe the planes flying near Budapest, especially those taking off and landing at Budapest Franz Liszt International Airport.
The app feeds on the radar data of HungaroControl and its operation is very simple. The whole application consists of a Google-based map and a lateral user interface, where we can even set from where and at what date we would like to observe the nearby planes. On this interface, we can also choose different Google map styles: street view, aerial view, satellite view, or satellite plus road view.

An absolute novelty is that we can access the traffic data of the past 15 days within the 3.7-kilometer radius of our specified address or GPS coordinates. Moreover, by selecting a specific airplane, we can see its current position, flight number and type, as well as the minimum distance from our specified location.

We think it is a good game to mess around with, and those who are interested in transport will love it even more. Users can even send feedback, the results of which HungaroControl will use anonymously for statistical purposes, and to fine-tune any improvements in the future.
