Some of the biggest parties in Budapest take place on the last day of the year. So we've collected some options for you to consider for New Year's Eve 2014/2015. Hungarian indie starsEvery year Hangmás welcomes the new year with a minute of silence and after it, pouring champagne on the stage and the crowd. Of course, they put on a great show too - they are known for being the most explosive band when it comes to live performances. Before them, two Hungarian indie favourites, SirVive and The Moog wave goodbye to 2014, and after the three concerts, Tesco Disco will keep you dancing to the songs of Kasabian, Foals, Arctic Monkeys and their friends.

On New Year's Eve everybody who counts in the Budapestian nightlife will be at Akvárium - it doesn't matter if they are into techno, house, breakbeat or rock 'n' roll. That also means that you will surely find something to your liking. The organisers are prominent figures in Budapest's nightlife scene:

Some say that 2015 is the new 2014. Maybe yes, maybe not, but one thing is sure: the band Mary Popkids had a great year. They released their first album, played at nearly all of the Hungarian festivals and on this night, they want to celebrate all of it. Run Over Dogs and Buddhasmile will help them to pop some champagne and they'll rework the Hungarian national anthem. This will be truly special!

Another night and place of electricity is at PRLMNT: first, up-and-coming britpop band Carbovaris will play, followed by the famous Hungarian retro-rocker squad Ivan & The Parazol. Monkz will reform only for this night, and join forces with Adam Hand. After Monkz, the DJs of HiFly (PalmfooD, Sobek, James Grow, Yvel & Tristan) will spin their records - they'll all come with extra special sets, so don't miss out!

Party district 

Tilos Selection Party, aka the official New Year's Eve party of the oldest Hungarian (pirate) radio. The well-known music selectors at this famous radio station will guide you through the last minutes of 2014 and into a 2015.

Everything can blast from the speakers from underground world music to drum 'n' bass or rock 'n' roll. Eclecticity and quality are the two keywords. Where? At Mika Tivadar Mulató.

Get jazzy on the last night of 2014, and celebrate with an all-star Hammond trio, formed by the members of Kéknyúl Hammond Band.
