Another year has passed and we can now reveal the most popular stories of 2014 as chosen by you, dear reader, when you've read a story once - or twice - and even shared it with your friends. We're happy to say that these stories were so popular that the number of readers almost broke our admin system! We look forward to publishing more great content about what's happening in Budapest, for you to enjoy, in 2015!

Top 5: general interestThese often humorous and light-hearted looks at Hungarians, and Hungarian traditions and ways of life were hugely popular on We Love Budapest in 2014. They had broad appeal and many have enjoyed reading them and sharing them with their social media networks. We have to admit they're a lot of fun to write as well!Top 5: news and informationThe giant that seemed to be crawling out of the ground at Széchenyi Square got plenty of attention - and not just in Hungary, so it's not surprising that it was one of our most popular articles this year. Of course, more informative pieces such as the top 10 things to do in Budapest also made the list. Light-hearted articles, including a story on the most important things to know when visiting a Hungarian home, or where to find love in Budapest were popular on our website and on our social media pages too.

One of the most important articles we have ever done is probably the one on the Hungarian food you must try at least once in your life and by the response we received, we know that a lot of our readers are slowly working their way through that list!Top 5: clubs and nightlifeIt's no surprise that an article on Budapest's ruin pubs tops this list, and that our revised 2014 edition came in at number two. The major event of 2014 - the football World Cup - helped snag the third spot, before we return to another ruin pub story, this time about the newly opened Mazel Tov. Rounding out the list is a look at Budapest's nightlife from an international perspective.Top 5: cafes and restaurantsIf we take this Top 5 as scientific evidence it's clear that everyone loves all-day breakfasts, street food, coffee, burgers and pizza, and thankfully there's an abundance of all of these (and more) in Budapest.Top 5: shops and servicesFrom Budapest's increasingly famous room escape games to our world famous thermal baths these are the articles that got the most interest from readers in the category of "shops and services" in 2014. Of course, it's hardly surprising that our articles on vintage shops, tattoo parlors and Budapest's top hostels got plenty of interests from backpackers and international students visiting Hungary.Of course we're going to continue to publish great new content on where to go, what to see and what's on in Budapest in 2015, so make sure you follow us on
