The Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival showcases fresh, creative documentaries from all over the world that highlight issues surrounding human rights. These include stories about a Belarusian alternative theater company, Iranian mullahs, Rwandan football players, homeless people in America, Ukrainian revolutionists, refugees from Eritrea, Czechoslovakian terrorists, and Hungarian nomads. Aside from these insightful documentaries there are discussions about human-rights issues and abuses, student screenings, and many other exciting programs to look forward to. Manó Mai photography exhibition

The Hungarian House of Photography in Nagymező Street is also known as Mai Manó House because the famous photographer lived in the building from 1894 until his death in 1917. When the museum decided to dedicate an exhibition to this Hungarian photographer, museum staff collected over 600 photographs. Of these 345 pieces can now be seen. So if you are interested in the best period of Hungarian photography this this is a great weekend plan for you. The most exciting element is that everyday people of the late-19th and early-20th centuries can be see here, revealing much about this era. See more on our event page here.

Downtown Gastro Promenade
For four months starting in November, Elizabeth Square (Erzsébet tér) will be enlivened by the Downtown Gastro Promenade ('Belvárosi Gasztrosétány'). And every weekend - including this one - there's a downtown outdoor market where we can get hundreds of international and Hungarian delicacies and get a delicious meal at what organiser's say is Hungary’s biggest street food event. Budapest English Theatre: PRETEXT

PRETEXT is a new comedy show that made its debut in Budapest. It’s directed by Virginia Proud, who brought audiences last year’s enthusiastically received 'Hangovers and Ancient History'. In this show, Virginia also takes to the stage, alongside Beth Spisljak, star of 'Short & Sweet' and 'First Draft', and actors Esther Holbrook and Madeleine Damasdi. If somebody talks about Skindred, he or she usually claims that their concerts is an experience not to be missed. Why? Because of their energetic stage presence and their explosive music, often given the title 'reggae-metal'. Reggae-metal is the energetic mix of the two genres, as demonstrated by excellent and explosive songs such as 'Ninja' or the title track of the record. As a bonus, it's the opening weekend of Room8 - a new nightclub on Király Street. Friday night: The Revenge, Vikipop, Crimson, and Bal5000; on Saturday: Acos Coolkas, Gensi from Add2Basket, Holic, and Dj Szett. Room 8 does not follow any kind of trend, only the thought “we just want to have fun”. Entry is 1500 HUF on both Saturday and Sunday night.
