A trio of towns along the Danube – Buda, Pest, and Óbuda – merged into a single city on November 17th of 1873, eventually evolving into what is now the modern-day Magyar metropolis. From its most prosperous period that prompted a vibrant architectural boom during the belle-époque era to repeated destruction in times of war, Budapest has been shaped by innumerable historic events, but now Hungary’s capital is one of the world’s most vibrant destinations with its one-of-a-kind vibe.
