Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – club parties, exhibits, live music, cocktails, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

10am - 10pm: ELEVEN Tavasz 2016 at Bartók Béla Boulevard
During May 6-8, District XI’s Bartók Béla Boulevard will come alive with exciting things for the springtime ELEVEN Festival, a community event that aims to revive the local cultural life, and shine some light on the potential the area has.

The main course at this year is Portugal – and everything that’s in connection with this country of the Iberian Peninsula. You can participate in wine tastings, architectural movie screenings, literary events, and they will even serve meals inspired by Portuguese novels at Kelet.

What’s more, there will be morning yoga, a community picnic at Feneketlen Lake, and also various concerts – check out this article for more details.
2pm - 9pm:

Rosalia – Rosé and Champagne Festival
at Városliget (City Park)Refreshing rosé wines, fizzy champagnes, and superb sparkling libations, an easygoing welcome to summer, street food, and live concerts in the most famous park of Budapest: that’s how we would sum up Rosalia, which slowly became a tradition – every year, thousands of people meet in the same month to toast the upcoming warm season with a few glasses of this and that. This year won’t be an exception, as between May 6-8, intoxicating sensations of summer will come to Városliget.

4pm - 10pm:

III. Food Truck Show Budapest
at Kincsem ParkThe main goal of the third Food Truck Show Budapest is to bring together all of the rentable victual-serving vehicles in Hungary that offer quality food. Between May 6-8, you can try the dishes of local rolling culinary trucks, be it the bagel sandwiches of Bakker, the hearty and heavenly sausage cones of Kolbice, the fresh and hot burgers of Zing Burger, or the on-the-spot cooked homemade pasta of Gnocchi Furgon – just to name a few options. And let’s not forget that many food trucks prepare a special menu for this gastro festival, so even if you are familiar with them, you might find something new to your liking.

6pm: Liveurope Showcase at A38 ShipLiveurope is an initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote up-and-coming European artists. The objective of Liveurope is to boost the programming of young European acts across the continent and help them reach new audiences. 2pm - : Lick The Click! Season Opening at A38 Ship Every Saturday is fun day at the sunny bow bar of the
A38 Ship: three vinyl junkies spin their favorite records all day long, just for your listening pleasure. Isu, Crim, and Chrom lived most of their lives behind the decks, so they surely know how to make a crowd go mad. While you are drinking an ice-cold mojito and enjoying the beautiful panorama with your friends, these three DJs will offer a wordless lecture for you about what good music really means. Before getting lost in the nightlife of Budapest, do some warm-up partying here.
8.30pm: Christian Scott at TrafóChristian Scott is a two-time Edison Award-winning jazz trumpeter, composer, and producer. Scott’s Grammy nominated debut, “Rewind That”, was called “arguably the most remarkable premiere the genre has seen in the last decade” by Billboard Magazine. Scott is known for developing the harmonic convention known as the “forecasting cell”, and for his use of an un-voiced tone in his playing, emphasizing breath over vibration at the mouthpiece, widely referred to as his “whisper technique”. Scott is also widely recognized as one of the progenitors of “Stretch Music”, a jazz-rooted, genre-blind musical form that attempts to “stretch” jazz’s rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic convention to encompass as many other musical forms, languages, and cultures as possible.Sunday

6am - : Contra Mondum Presents Afterhours at Corvin Bar Budapest never sleeps – not even after a Saturday night spent dancing and drinking. That’s why Afterhours came to life: a party series that starts at 6am, for those who still don’t want to leave the club, but spend some more time on the dance floor. This time, Polarize will play a special, extended set that will surely take you on a unique trip. 10am - 1pm:
Palace Of Delights
at MüPa – Palace Of ArtsThe Palace of Delights welcomes families who wish to spend time with creative and meaningful activities. The children’s concerts, dance shows, and fairy-tale theatrical acts – as well as musicals and other creative activities, including games – are always linked to a weekly theme.
2.30pm - : Miutcánk.hu Picnic at Feneketlen Lake As the weather gets warmer, the days get longer, and everyone awaits those summer afternoons sitting on the freshly cut grass. Dust off your picnic basket, invite all the neighbors, relatives, old and new friends, and cats and dogs, as from May 8th the picnic season is officially on!

8pm: Jucifer, UEUM at Dürer Kert When browsing through Jucifer’s Discogs account, you will find some lovely pictures depicting Gazelle Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood as the nice couple from next door. But if you dig just a little deeper you will find much more. Flying hair, huge piles of amplifiers, pure energy, total fury and ecstasy. Now pair that with their last full-length “Districts Of Dystopia”, released in 2014, and you will get the full picture of this raging two piece. Stated to be one the heaviest and most intense records of their quite extensive discography, they deliver an insane mixture of dragging sludge, heavy doom, and high-speed grind attacks. Rough and straightforward, the duo won’t bore you with an overproduced sound. Everything is reduced to the essentials: riffs, drums, and fierce, almost inhuman vocals.
