Performances of the best Hungarian and international artists always make the Spring Festival a truly special occasion, presenting premieres of musical and theatrical productions, as well as co-productions with partner institutions throughout the event.
Noon - 10pm: Beer, Burger & Barbecue Festival at Millenáris ParkThe first Beer, Burger & Barbecue Festival – taking place during April 15-17 at Millenáris Park – is, well, about what you’ve already guessed. Budapest’s best street-food eateries will serve traditional and special dishes, while the best local and international artisanal beers will be on tap. Forget about fast-food restaurants and what you’ve eaten there, and find out everything about barbecue and the American way of eating. The festival offers free-time activities for all generations, so if you won’t feel like eating (although there’s a really low chance of that), you’ll still find something to do.
7pm - 8.30pm: 22nd Polish Film Spring at Művész Cinema The contemporary Polish cinema is one of the most interesting phenomena in European cinema. The strong supply of past years, and the numerous awards – including an Oscar for Ida – proves how strong Polish cinema is. How was 2015 for it? Exciting, diverse in genres, and mostly dominated by women.
During the 22nd Polish Film Spring, taking place between April 14-20, some of the greatest works of the past year will be screened: for example, on Friday, they’ll screen Marcin Wrona’s crime thriller Demon, setting a creepy tale of possession squarely in the middle of a night of wild revelry. Original (Polish) audio, English subtitles!
8pm - 7am: Bladerunnaz Welcomes – Noisia Invites at SYMA HallApril 15th brings the first Hungarian edition of Noisia Invites Festival, celebrating the broad spectrum of bass music. The lineup speaks for itself: apart from the Noisia guys, Camo & Krooked, Mefjus, The Upbeats, ANNIX and Xtrah will stand behind the decks, covering all different styles in d’n’b, from the more techno-influenced neurofunk to the spirit-raising liquid funk. The local support will be the founder of the Eatbrain label, Jade, Mindscape, Chris.Su, Raise Spirit and IAN Autorun. Be there!
11pm - 4am: Friday Lust – DJ Free, Basics, Immi V, Goyah at Tesla BudapestFriday Lust at Tesla is Budapest’s greatest girly party, definitely not only for ladies, but for everyone who likes to dance all night to the best nu disco, house, and modern electro hits. Saturday

9am - 4pm: Telekom Vivicittá Half Marathon at Margaret IslandKicking off on Margaret Island, the Telekom Vivicittá Half Marathon, organized between April 16-17, traverses shorter and longer distances (7 km, 10 km, 21 km) in the heart of Budapest, and whichever challenge you take depends on your level of fitness. Back in 1984, the Italians thought that encouraging the citizens of small, crammed, but beautiful Italian cities to do some running will make them recognize the hidden beauties and values of their own towns, so this two-day spring jogging jamboree will also be a good way for you to (re)discover all the things that makes the capital such a wonderful place to be.

The Lonesome West at Átrium Film&TheatreIn a small Irish town that’s fast becoming the murder capital of the world, two brothers battle it out over a dead father, an inheritance, and a packet of crisps. Is there life after death? And before?
The Lonesome West is the third installment in Martin McDonagh’s award-winning Leenane trilogy, and it’s now on show in Budapest’s Átrium Theater in Hungarian language with English supertitles.
4pm - 10pm: Borjour Pop-UP! – April at Manna Lounge & Restaurant The city’s lovely promenade just above the Castle District tunnel will turn into a one-day long pop-up market on Saturday, from 4pm. At the Manna Lounge & Restaurant, and on its terrace, different designers will await everyone with clothes, jewelry, and wine accessories, whilst inside, visitors can taste the wines of various vineyards and the newest products of two craft-beer breweries. Cheers!
8pm - 9.45pm: Robert Glasper Experiment at Palace of Arts (MüPa) Robert Glasper is one of today’s brightest stars of the piano. His jazz-based music keeps referencing a wide range of styles, from rock to hip-hop. “Black Radio”, the 2012 R&B album he released with his quartet, the Experiment, won a Grammy Award the next year.
Glasper’s fourth record was a great surprise, and was eagerly received. Reviewers were lost for words, and a renowned critic called “Black Radio” the album of the year 2012; the conservative Downbeat featured it on its front page, and the New York Times praised it in a long article. Glasper offered a new take on the genre of jazz, and won it a new audience. Many consider him the future of jazz, which he usually dismisses by saying “no, I am here now.” 10pm - 6am: HI!FLY Presents Guy J, James Zabiela, Khen at Akvárium KlubHiFly already organized a highly popular party in 2014 with Guy J, an Israeli DJ, who believes that electronic music is so beautiful because it does not have any boundaries.
The roots of his emotional and honest creations is in trance, but he likes shaking it up with the moods of progressive music and the energy of old school techno. Before him, another Israeli DJ, Khen will stand behind the decks and the icing on the cake will be the DJ set of James Zabiela, who will surely drive you crazy with his tech house/breakbeat hits.Sunday
