Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – dance parties, exhibits, live music, cocktails, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

11am - :

Klauzál Market Opening
at Klauzál MarketThe long-awaited moment finally comes on October 2nd: the renovated Klauzál Square Market opens its doors to the public! The re-opening will be celebrated with a huge party, and lots of exciting programs, such as face painting, a musical quiz, and craft workshops.

The list of performers includes Sheyla Bonnick, and famous Hungarian stars.

4pm - 8pm:Summer did not end in Rudas… at Gozsdu UdvarBy taking a glance at the calendar and taking a morning walk in the cold outside, we are forced to accept that summer already came to and end. However, Rudas Bath refuses to say goodbye to the hot days, and so decided to bring back summer for a few hours on Friday and Saturday – in Gozsdu Udvar. On both days between 4pm and 8pmk, something will happen that would not be season appropriate in October. We can say as much that the active participants of the flashmob might even win something with a bit of luck.

6pm - : CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival 2015 at Budapest
With almost 110 events at 40 venues happening during October 2-18, the colorful programs include productions in classical and pop music, jazz and world music, opera, theater, and contemporary circus, along with evenings of literature and visual-art exhibits. In addition to the best Hungarian performers, this special festival also features international stars, co-productions, and premieres. Hungary’s most important festival of contemporary arts is realized in cooperation between MüPa Budapest, the Budapest Festival and Tourism Center, and Hungarian Tourism Inc.

10pm - : Casino Bangkok Presents Alex.Do at Corvintető Alex.do is the homegrown talent of Dystopian Records. He met with Rødhåd shortly before the foundation of the record label, and released his first EP, Stalker, in 2014. This year, he was already featured in a release with Scuba, and his second album is expected before the end of the year.

In his DJ sets, which are deep, last several hours, and give listeners the feeling of being on another planet, he can live out his melancholic, introverted side. At the same time, his pulsating mood sweeps are electrifying, which characterize his personality as well as his productions.
10.30pm - :
UH Fest – Low Jack, TM404, Silf, Zovek, Ñaka Ñaka
at ToldiTM404 is the new project by renowned Swedish producer Andreas Tilliander and is focused on live music, in every sense. He works in the studio, surrounded by analog synthesizers and effects, creating live music at all times where nothing is replayed once recorded. It is a methodology crystallized by eight compositions that make up his first album for Kontra, an excellent ambient dub album rich in textures. It makes sense then, that this new project can be fully appreciated via his new live show, in which Tilliander relocates his studio concept (and synths) to the stage. Saturday

2pm - : Buda Castle Pálinka and Sausage Festival at Buda Castle The Pálinka and Sausage Festival will exhibit more then 400 different types of pálinka, 13 concerts in 3 days (including Anna and The Barbies, Vad Fruttik, and Szabó Balázs Bandája), guided pálinka tours, pálinka sweets, gin specialties, and TukTuk runs, happening during October 2-4.

at PRLMNTThe trio of Riya, Matt Banks, and Charlie P – aka Hyrid Minds – are masters of silk-coated drum ’n’ bass and delicate-on-the-ears crooners, that surely put you in a special mood. Kove’s first two tracks were released through the legendary Viper Recordings, which is a signifier that he is one of the most promising names in the current drum ’n’ bass scene.

Secret Operations label founder and longtime drum ’n’ bass maestro Seba knows everything about the genre, and he will surely keep you dancing all night long.

10pm - : StayFly Presents NU & Lake People (Live) at Tesla Budapest Lake People is the solo project of Leipzig-based Martin Enke. From there he takes off to play his magnificent live sets all over the world.

In his unpretentious way he has managed to create his own sound universe in a short time, touching sensitive spots without jumping on you directly.
