Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – dance parties, exhibits, live music, cocktails, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

Noon - 6pm:
It Has Never Been So Fluo
at Supermarket Gallery “It Has Never Been So Fluo” is a multimedia exhibition that looks into the aura of advertisements that forms us. The participating artists utilize new media, 3D printing, Internet-sourced imagery, and installations as a form of mediation — to express the essence of (as yet) intangible and hazy emotions, felt while living under the effects of social polarization and “world culture”. Borders, mimicking reality, paradoxical promises.

Noon - 10pm: Next Level Openair Presents: TWRK
at Vituki Beach The duo of Benzi and Esentrik hit the scene crushing dance floors from strip clubs to frat houses to the main stages of festivals, all by cranking out dance floor massives, including their global breakout “BaDinga”. Their signature sound has everyone knocking down their door for remixes, including Major Lazer, Jason Derulo, Naughty Boy & Wiz Kalifa, A-Trak’s project Low Pros!

Trap music — cold drinks, hot chicks, palm trees, good vibes, and of course, twerk! 2pm - 11pm:

Smart Times Festival 2015
at 1956 Memorial Square Smart Times will be held during August 28th and 29th at 1956 Memorial Square by City Park. This is a traveling festivalthat Hungary won the right to organize, and so Budapest will host the 15th event. 2pm - 11pm:

Random SörWeekend
at the promanade next to Allee Beer again? Beer indeed! The last summer when beer can be in the focus is finally here, with artisanal Hungarian, Belgian, Czech, and English beers. Besides the beer, visitors will be able to enjoy the foods of BBQKirály and Kolbice, as well.

8pm - 11pm: Viet Cong, derTANZ at A38 ShipViet Cong is a canny fusion of four quite distinct voices from their hometown of Calgary, Alberta. Featuring former members of the much-loved — but sadly defunct — band Women, and members of Chad VanGaalen’s backing band, Viet Cong offers up an intriguing mixture of sharply-angled rhythm workouts and euphoric ‘60s garage pop-esque melodies.

This open-ended framework is balanced with a penchant for drone-y, Velvet Underground-styled downer moments, altogether spinning what has been called “easily one of the best new Canadian bands in quite some time.” Saturday

9am: Budapest Hikers: 5th Hike - LastHikeInSummer at Újpest-Városkapu bus terminus The summer-closing event of the Budapest Hikers kicks off in the village of Dömös, about 45 kilometers from Budapest. The meeting point is at Budapest, Újpest-Városkapu bus terminus.

2pm: DreherFest 2015 at Dreher Brewery (1117, Budapest, Jászberényi street 7-11.)If you never partied in a beer factory, here’s the opportunity on Saturday at the Dreher brewery in Budapest. There you can taste fresh Dreher Classic, Dreher Summer Moment, Dreher Special Brew, and many more alcohol-fueled liquid refreshers. Not to mention that outstanding Hungarian bands like Pannonia Allstar Ska Orchestra or Magashegyi Underground will be performing during the festival, too. Don't miss it!
4pm - 11pm: 3. Junibor Borünnep at St. Stephen’s Basilica Szent István Square will belong to Junibor for four days once again! The Young Winemakers’ Association and DiVino await all wine enthusiasts for a meeting and celebration where they can taste wines firsthand, directly from the winemakers. During these four days, the most exciting wines of young Hungarian winemakers will surely be in front of the Basilica – with informal tastings, consulting hours, good foods, familiar faces, and a spirited atmosphere.
7.30pm - 9.30pm: New Orleans Swingfestival at MüPa (Palace Of Arts) Kicking off its second decade this year, the New Orleans Swingfestival shows audiences fresh colors and new moods of swing year after year. Once again, the late-summer concerts will offer surprises and novelties as swing, consistently popular since its emergence in the 1930s, continues to inspire musicians to this day. On Saturday, Gabi Szűcs and her band will perform swing arrangements of Amy Winehouse’s best songs.

11pm - 5am: The Rave Party at HoldudvarThis summer the visitors of Holdudvar could have traveled via the greatest moments of clubbing’s history. The place opened its dance club in a Moulin Rouge dress, than rocked it's socks off in Studio54 style, in July you could have had a glance at a Cuban street parade in the ’60-’70s. As the season is nearly over, it has arrived to the present-day party scene, and Holdudvar organises a rave party:

spectacular light painting, neon makeup artists, neon bracelets, and a lot more. Sunday

10am - 9pm: Cholent Festival at Kazinczy StreetHow does a kosher smoked goose leg taste? How is kosher cholent made in Yemen and Galicia?
