Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – dance house, parties, live music, cocktails, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

8am - 10pm:
"The Streets You Choose"
at Szimpla Háztáji"The street you choose" is an enchanting photo exhibition by Italian traveler, Stefano Di Marco, who captured some imposing moments of daily life along his journeys around Italy, Poland and Finland. 14 selected photographs demonstrate each country through their different cultures and architectural styles. The exhibition can be visited every day until August 15.

2pm - 7pm:

Lavinia Tribiani – Zsuzsa Bakonyi: Monumentol’Aquila – A monument to the city of L'Aquila
at Hungarian House Of Photography Monumentol’Aquila is a photographic project about the city of L'Aquila made ​​during the summer of 2013 by artists Lavinia Tribiani and Zsuzsa Bakonyi.

The project consists of a series of twenty-five photographs that portray citizens of L'Aquila in groups standing across some of the most significant places of their city. Since the number ‘99’ is both a mysterious and protective number for the town, altogether 99 people are depicted in the photos.

They are all shown with their bare feet touching the cobbled stones of piazzas, the ground of gardens or road surfaces, as if, like shrubs, they had grown out of that very land that they belong to. They express their strong feeling of belonging with tenacity and confidence, longing or hoping to see the rebirth of their city.

Open Day

National Beach Volleyball Championship 2015 – Final
at Kispest SE Beach Here is the final of the 2015 National Beach Volleyball Championship!

Although it already starts on Friday, as that's when qualifying matches take place, the real fun, aka matches of 16 women and 16 men pairs are organized on Saturday. Competitions of the best 6-6 teams take place on the following day.

5.30pm - 5am:

Eine Kleine Trash Music Fest
at Barba Negra TrackIf you feel like your headnodding muscles need some flexing or if you think that there is nothing better than a night spent with listening to oldschool trash- or groove-metal, maybe metalcore, this is what you've been waiting for. Some of the most legendary Hungarian bands of the genre will smash the place into pieces with their teutonic stabs, killer riffs and hardcore-ish metalcore. The lineup includes The Southern Oracle, Moby Dick, Akela and Ektomorf.

8pm - 5am:

Budapest Calling Open Air - Miguel Campbell
at raqpart Miguel has been galvanised by the house music scene since the early 90's and has also been a DJ since that time. He began producing his own music as one 'half' of the underground duo HCB.

In 2006 he founded his own label Outcross Records, which became a home for his music. Teaming up with fellow Leeds resident Matt Hughes to form MAM, a duo that has remixed the likes of the Imany, Deadmau5 and Flight Facilities, as well as putting out releases via Wolf+Lamb, Future Classic, BPitch Control and Outcross itself.

10pm - 4am:

LavaLava Presents: Makam
at CorvintetőBorn and raised in The Hague on the Dutch coast, Makam grew up with electronic music. With his family and friends being a constant factor of new musical input, Makam decided to take musical matters into his own hands. A fortunate decision, as he had struck a creative nerve that revealed his raw talent. Emerging himself in tunes, he mastered the art of music production and found his own unique style.

With his residency at Dekmantel and in Hollands most respected club Trouw Amsterdam, Makam has fully established himself as a leading producer and DJ he is nowadays.

11pm - 4am:

Jubei & SP:MC Present: ZONES
at A38 ShipThe Zones concept brings the DJ & MC combination into a new light by professionally recording & presenting particular shows. Jubei and SP are touring across the globe this year and on certain dates like this, the shows will be recorded and released for free via the concept Zones website with custom artwork.

With both of them being leading names within the global drum & bass community, this special night simply cannot go wrong.Sunday

noon - 10pm: 360 Bar Presents: Sundaze Volume 4 - CityMatiné Sessions Recording at 360 Bar The CityMatiné DJs - Captain Knuckles, DJ Sobek and Monolit - will take you even higher this time, far above Budapest! And when both sides are there, they'll start playing their favorite tunes and record it in the form of a video; something like the Hungarian Boiler Room. 1pm - 11pm: Sunday Garden X Cycle Me Home at Dürer-kertThe third and most serious film project of CMH finally sees the light of day!

The group got lost deep in the mountains and woods of Transylvania last summer, to conquer the best known and most dangerous serpentine of the world, the Transfăgărășan, with their rampant bicycles.

Traditionally, there will be an alleycat race before film screening, which will take the participants to Transylvania through a dimension gate, where they are awaited by pálinka, beers and endless roaming!
