At the inaugural “inspiration festival” happening June 4-6 in Hungary's capital, meet many of the world’s top thinkers alongside innovative audiovisual artists. While the main draw of Brain Bar Budapest is interacting with some 50 esteemed international trailblazers from a variety of fields – all striving to determine what the future will look like as the paths of humanity and technology continually collide – an impressive lineup of DJs and musicians will also entertain participants with avant-garde beats and stunning visuals.

In our previous article about the upcoming Brain Bar Budapest “inspiration festival”, we introduced many of the world’s leading thinkers that will share their views on the social impact of technological development at this groundbreaking event; primary topics include trends and dilemmas determining the future of big cities, enterprises, education, health, and innovation. Why isn’t there a European Silicon Valley? What will the ideal school be like in 2025? Will we trust applications or doctors? What will the role of the state be after the new industrial revolution? How will the relationship between technology and religion develop? The event aims to address a wide variety of views, and to discuss the most pressing questions of the future.

However, between all of the mind-blowing panel discussions, workshops, and debates happening at Erzsébet Square venues like Design Terminal and Akvárium Klub, a diverse series of concerts, DJ sets, and pop-up performances will add harmony to the Brain Bar Budapest proceedings with 21st-century flair. Several cutting-edge soundsmiths of the city’s underground party scene will tickle eardrums with electronic vibes while eyes are overwhelmed with light shows and unique projections.

Performers include IAMYANK (developing games in addition to making music); visual artist Tamás Ál; Anima Sound System and DJ Bootsie; the unpredictable duo of Uffalo Steez; Amoeba, freshly burst onto the forefront of Budapest’s underground scene; Eckü from Hősök; and Bupino of the hip-hop world.

Meanwhile, the festival’s headline guests will include Richard Florida (perhaps the best-known modern-day theoretician of creative economy), and Daniel Epstein, the founder of the Unreasonable Institute – chosen as one of the 30 most-influential entrepreneurs of the world – as well. India’s Sugata Mitra, the internationally renowned expert of the relationship between learning and technology, will give a lecture too, as will Philip Zimbardo, a professor at Stanford University researching behavioral psychology. The 17-year-old Mara Steiu will be there as well to talk about how she created an internationally successful game that develops financial and entrepreneurial skills. In addition, transhumanist philosopher Steve Fuller and rabbi Slomó Köves will present their views on the relationship of technology and religion.

The lecture of Niall Ferguson, the world’s best-known living historian, promises to be a real highlight of Brain Bar Budapest – this professor of Harvard University will not be present physically, but will share his thoughts on the nature of crises and the future of Western civilization in a holographic format, with the help of virtual reality.

Brain Bar Budapest is jointly organized by Design Terminal, Akvárium Klub, and We Love Budapest, with the main sponsor of the event being Hungarian Telekom, while the Pallas Athena Geopolitical Foundation contributes with hosting the international lecturers.
