Practicing English is fun Learn English Budapest (LEB) was established a few months ago to make things easier for students and teachers. They organize weekly events where native English teachers, locals, and people of different nationalities gather to refine their skills in the company of a couple of beers.
These get-togethers were going on for some weeks now, and the number of attendees is constantly on the rise. Their essence is akin to that of the International Meeting Point but the focus is on practicing English.

for teachers in Budapest. This means that those who want to take it seriously and improve their knowledge will find LEB mighty useful. The reasons: - LEB matches students and teachers according to the needs of the former - Students can personalize the curriculum - Students decide the when and where of the lessons - Also, by adding some personal info to this form, LEB will match students and teachers with similar interests.
The first lesson, which is more like an introduction, is for free. The prices range between 3.000 and 5.250 HUF depending on the teacher and the number of lessons. Students pay directly to the teacher, LEB does not charge anything for the process.
More about LEB We’ve talked to Andrew Davison, the mind behind this business. He is from England and moved to Budapest after wandering around Asia and Europe for a whole year. He’s planning to stay here for now as he says Budapest is a fun and vibrant city.
Andrew operates LEB with Kevin Dean, who’s also from England and likes Budapest a lot, and has been organizing English events in the city for a year. Learn English Budapest was the result of mixing Andrew’s experience as an English teacher and his expertise in sales and marketing with Kevin’s know-how of social events and knowledge of the city’s expat community.
LEB meetings take place every Thursday from 19.30, usually at AnKert, but sometimes other places. More info can be found on their Facebook page.
