There’s no need to go all the way to the Chinese enclave of Kőbánya for an authentic Asian dish anymore – Spicy Fish at the Monori Center, Budapest’s Chinese wholesale market, has recently opened hand-in-hand with Sakura Ramen in the Corvin Quarter. The main attraction is Chinese cuisine, but they also offer Korean and Japanese specialities.
Spicy Fish is ideal for those who are not too experienced in oriental culinary adventures yet, as the menu ranges from exotic curiosities to simple Chinese buffet foods, although in a more traditional vein. The pictures on the menu help navigate you through the endless varieties of noodles, ramens, spring rolls and wok-fried dishes. Those advanced in Asian cuisine should try the Sichuan speciality, the spicy fish as well.
Tip: the cherry blossom-filled interior is ideal for a romantic date.
