On the outskirts of the city lies Ecseri Piac (Ecseri Market) - Budapest’s largest flea market. Though at first glance it may appear to be an abandoned junkyard, Ecseri is a fascinating and lively market well worth the forty-minute bus ride. You can find all kinds of unique pieces here – everything from antique furnishings and vintage jewelry to Soviet-era relics and retro cameras. Whether a die-hard antiques fan, or someone who just appreciates history and culture, a morning spent browsing Ecseri is a special experience. The market is open daily from 9 am, with Saturday’s considered best for an interesting find or bargain.
