As spring arrives, Budapest turns soft pink with blooming cherry and ornamental trees, usually from late March to early April, depending on the weather. From quiet gardens to panoramic viewpoints, there are several spots where you can enjoy this short but magical season. We’ve rounded up a few places where you can take a walk, slow down, and soak in the blossoms while they last.

Nehru Part

Located between Boráros tér and Bálna, Nehru Part is a laid-back riverside spot perfect for a spring walk. While it's not a classic cherry blossom destination, you can spot blooming trees along the Danube, paired with open views of the river and Liberty Bridge. It's a great choice if you're looking for a quieter, less crowded place to enjoy the early signs of spring.

Tóth Árpád sétány - Buda Castle

Tóth Árpád sétány is, without a doubt, the most picturesque promenade in Buda's Castle District. It's also conveniently tucked away from the crowds, so you might even find a peaceful moment here, though perhaps not in peak cherry blossom season. Come April, this idyllic, Instagram-friendly spot boasts breathtaking views and a double row of cherry trees bursting into pink bloom. Definitely one not to miss!

ELTE Botanical Garden

Nestled in the heart of Budapest's 8th district, the city's oldest botanical garden, ELTE Botanical Gardens, is not a place to miss if you're after cherry blossoms. You can not only feast your eyes on the pretty flowers but also spread your picnic blanket beneath them (maybe not in the rain though).

Gellért Hill (near the Cave Church)

If you're on the hunt for Insta-worthy spots in Budapest – or just want to soak up some real spring vibes – make your way to Gellért Hill! From the cross above the Cave Church, you'll get breathtaking views (and magical shots) of the Danube and Liberty Bridge, all framed by stunning almond blossoms. It's one of the most spectacular spring sights in the capital.

Millenáris Park

Located in Buda, Millenáris Park is another great option for a spring stroll, especially as the season progresses. Alongside its landscaped green spaces and ponds, you can spot blooming trees adding soft colours to the park. It's particularly beautiful when the nearby cherry and ornamental trees start to blossom, making it a perfect spot to combine nature with a coffee or a relaxed afternoon outdoors.
