Buda Castle
The Castle needs no introduction. As it's quite big, it's worth exploring several parts. The most beautiful walkway in the country is the Tóth Árpád Promenade on the southwestern side of the Castle District, from where the lights of the built-up parts of the Buda hillsides are a feast for the eyes. On the other side, on the Fisherman's Bastion, facing the Savoyai Terrace, you can admire the view of Pest and the Danube. The Castle District offers plenty to see: the Buda Castle, Matthias Church, the historic houses along the small streets, and the traces of the development and reconstruction of the National Hauszmann Programme.

Gellért Hill
Gellért Hill, believed to have a spiritual charge, offers some of the most beautiful panoramas in the city. You can drop by the Cave Church and Monastery to glimpse the view, but as you make your way up the hill, your path will be dotted with viewpoints. Approaching the hill from the Tabán side, the Philosophers' Garden is worth a special visit for the views.

Bridges and Quays
You don't have to climb high to enjoy the city lights, as there are plenty of panoramic views along the banks of the Danube in Pest and Buda. From Müpa, for example, you can climb up to the Ziggurat (which has an exhibition space inside) to look around, and from there continue to the Nehru part. From Liberty Bridge to Margaret Bridge, both sides are magnificent, one dominated by the Parliament, the other by Castle Hill and Gellért Hill. You can even zigzag across the bridges on the way.
Rózsadomb
This short tour starts from the Buda end of the Margaret Bridge and includes three lookout points, Gül Baba's tomb, the nearby Mansfeld Péter Park, and the József-hegy lookout. The geographical name of the hill is Szemlő-hegy, but the old name is stuck on the lookout. The route is lined with beautiful villas.
Fátra téri panoramic viewpoint
A lesser-known panoramic point of the city is Fátra tér. Accessible from the streets below the Farkasréti cemetery, it is a romantic, hidden gem of a meeting point at Sas-hegy, where you can linger sitting on a bench as long as you'd like.
